French painter Raphaele Goineau grew up in Saint Pierre et Miquelon and currently resides on the West Coast of France. She has also lived in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Poitou and she comes back to Saint Pierre as often has she can, to paint, give workshops and see her family.
The bright colours of Newfoundland are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Goineau. She captures vivid colours and deep contrast in her oil paintings in both her studio and the outdoors. She prefers to paint “plein-air” in alla prima style. Goineau took lessons from French painter Stephane Ruais and American painter Marc Dalessio, She has also studied graphic design at Ecole Estienne (Paris) and Art University of Saint-
Charles (Paris).
Goineau has exhibited in France; Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Niort, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, St. John’s and Halifax. Her art work can be found in many public collections such as Ministere de l’Outre-Mer, City Hall of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Airport of Saint-Pierre, Museum Archives Arches of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Museum of l’Ile-aux-Marins.
