The Peter Lewis Gallery is proud to present the gallery’s latest exhibition ‘Three of a Kind’. Join Peter Lewis, Michael Greene and Michael Kilburn on a colourful trip to the South and West coasts of Newfoundland.
These three artists have more in common than you would think. They marry the focus of long distance running with their love of painting to capture these seaside communities. Peter Lewis and Michael Greene have both won the Tely Ten race in St. John’s, in 1984, 1989 and 1974, respectively.
Peter Lewis credits Michael Green as being the first person that piqued his interest in painting.
‘I knew Michael (Greene) as a runner before I knew him as a painter. He really introduced me to painting about 20 years back. It’s fantastic all these years later we’re able to have an exhibit together with Michael Kilburn and share what we love to do.’
The South and West coasts of Newfoundland are prominently featured in this exhibit. With landscapes from Trout River, Rose Blanche, Petites, Francois, Port au Port Peninsula and more.
The opening reception will take place on October 20th from 7:00-9:30pm and the exhibit will run until November 11th 2017.
